They simply bolt on to a closed cylinder. The early cylinder requires you to drill holes in order to mount the V plates. The later enclosed cylinders already have the holes drilled. If you have an early cylinder we provide a template to mark and drill the holes.
By installing these v plates it will allow you to run much lower cylinder speeds with heavy crop flow, up to 10 to 150 RPMs less. This gives you a much better grain sample. You will see a noticeable difference in HP gain by using these v plates especially in beans and wheat. We have not seen gains in corn. The OEM offers a very similar plate to this but the HHS is heavier and has a much better wear life than the OEM as well as better pricing.
By installing the V plates it will make the OEM cylinder perform like the high dollar specialty cylinders for a fraction of the cost.
